Children's Dentistry

First Visit

The first visit of a child to a dentist’s office can often be delayed by the simple fear of the word doctor, but also by the lack of hygiene and prophylaxis programs promoted in kindergartens and schools. On this matter, the family represents a model and is the main factor that triggers trust.
We are thankful to our patients for understanding that the oral health of their children is in good hands in our clinic!

Meeting with the Dentist

The pediatric dentist (a specialist in dentistry for children) will explain each step of the check-up to your child and show him the tools that will be used. Thus, your child will feel comfortable, assimilating everything as a play – the main activity of the child. Once your little one becomes accustomed to good dental hygiene, the dentist will only have a dental prevention role. We believe that by helping children feel comfortable at the dentist at an early age, we can help alleviate the fear of the dentist and dental work.

Dental Injection or Not?

The simple image of a syringe is always frightening. This is why this key-step should be done with great subtlety and attention. Trying to hide the syringe will cause the opposite effect and will determine the child to lose confidence in the dentist. In pediatric dentistry, a small syringe with very thin needle is being used, together with an anaesthetic gel applied before, in order to ensure total comfort and painless injection.
After this fundamental step, dental care will follow the needs of our little patient.
The pediatric dentist always talks to the child in a calm and relaxed manner and stops whenever is necessary.

Spaceship

With a lot of patience (based on both experience and good knowledge of child psychology), a pediatric dentist will capture the attention of the child through interactive games, showing him how to move the dental chair and what sounds can dental instruments make etc. Because the spitting cup may make some scary sucking noises, the dentist will show your child how it works and how to spit into it properly.
When the child got used with the dental office space, he/she will be invited to sit on the pilot seat. The nurse, who plays a very important role during the child’s accommodation with the dental office, will show the suction tool and the rinsing glass. The child, being now in a familiar environment becomes interested in what is happening so the fear of the unknown disappears.
At the end of each visit, the brave patient will get a reward for his/her courage, receiving a diploma and other surprise prizes.
